Man's sin has placed an insurmountable obstacle between himself and God. Nothing man can do will allow him to scale the obstacle or bring it down that he might find his way to God. Rather than man doing the work, God had to do the work. The provision of Christ is the only thing that will carry man to God through the atonement through Jesus' blood.
